Hot August Music Festival
The Hot August Music Festival has been proud to bring music, family-fun, and the community together for more than 25 years. This year, the event will be taking place on August 17th at the Oregon Ridge Park in Cockeysville, MD.
With ticket prices ranging from $63 to $199, this music festival is certain to give music-lovers the most bang for their buck. For the price of one ticket, event-goers have the chance to listen to over a dozen live artists, including Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Billy Strings, and Samantha Fish.
Plus, the best part is admission is free for children 12 and under. Besides live music, the festival also includes family activities in a designated Kids Corner, as well as food and craft vendors.
The Maryland State Fair
Beginning on August 22nd through September 4th, the 2019 Maryland State Fair is back to show just how importance agriculture is in daily life. The fair is being held at the Timonium Fairgrounds each day from 9:00AM to 10:00PM.
The event offers classic amusements rides such as Ferris Wheels and Tower Rides, but the fun does not stop there. Visitors of all ages can meet and learn about various furry friends, including cows, sheep, and pigs. Besides live farm animals, festival-goers can visit the educational feature to learn about healthy diets and what they are eating.
Maryland Renaissance Festival
Just like the State Fair, the Maryland Renaissance Festival is another long-running event to give everyone a chance to experience the village. From August 24st to October 20th, the festival will be open every weekend on Saturday and Sunday in Annapolis, MD.
The festival is packed full of family friendly activities and attractions that will truly need a dedicated weekend to appreciate. With entertainment ranging from Shakespeare reenactments and traditional acapella groups to jousting tournaments and acrobatics, festival-goers will be transported in time to King Henry VIII’s magical kingdom.
Films On The Pier
The best part of Baltimore is the never-ending selection of activities to choose from. In August, Films On The Pier is offering four chances to head down to Broadway Pier in Fell’s Point to watch new releases with family and friends.
Every Wednesday night in August at 8:45PM, viewers can enjoy a movie while taking in the surreal waterfront views. All you need is a lawn chair, blankets, and excessive snacks.
